The Lord desires that we understand and war a good fight against our enemy, the devil. Even the apostle Paul reminds us that we are not ignorant of satan’s devices. “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices” (2 Corinthians 2:11). Paul assumes that the reader knows the battle strategies of the enemy. The idea of having battle strategies and waging war was introduced and reinforced to Timothy, who was being spiritually fathered by Paul. Paul told Timothy, “This charge and admonition I commit in trust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with prophetic intimations which I formerly received concerning you, so that inspired and aided by them you may wage the good warfare, holding fast to faith (that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence) and having a good (clear) conscience. By rejecting and thrusting from them [their conscience], some individuals have made shipwreck of their faith” (1 Timothy 1:17–18 AMPC). My heart for every believer in this book is that they understand and implement the strategies of God’s warfare in the days ahead. We will see such victory as we come together in unity of the faith and walk in the love of God, standing firm in His will. After all, the Lord is a mighty Warrior, and He never loses. (See Zephaniah 3:17.) He will surely come to your aid.
Enjoy the book!
