Message:
In Dalton, Georgia during the late 1800's, a young lady by the name of Catherine Evans made a hand crafted bedspread as a wedding gift for her brother. Demand for the bedspreads grew and a thriving cottage industry developed which led to Dalton becoming the bedspread capital of the world. The bedspreads were crafted by women in the community who spent many hours sewing a beautiful peacock design by hand. Many of these women prayed over the bedspreads as they sewed. Thousands of bedspreads were shipped from Dalton all over the country in the first half of the 1900's. Each bedspread carried the prayers and blessings of these ladies from Dalton to people all over the country. From this humble beginning, the broadloom carpet industry developed making Dalton the carpet capital of the world.
In honor of prayers and hard work of these enterprising women, this Healing Blanket was made again in Dalton, Georgia. It has healing scriptures and blessings on the face that are from one man's healing journey. These scriptures and blessings were given to him in times of deep prayer and meditation. In keeping with tradition, each blanket has been prayed over that God's blessings would come to all who receive it. "The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you, the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26
